Oakdale Cord Chore Jacket Blue
Washed Blue Corduroy – Built for the Everyday Pioneer
A New Chapter in a Time-Honoured Story
We’ve always made chore jackets. They’re part of our DNA—a staple for the craftsman, the creative, and the modern-day pioneer. But this… this is something new.
The Oakdale is our first-ever chore jacket made from corduroy. A fresh design that honours a century of heritage while stepping into something softer, more lived-in, and undeniably &SONS.
Built in Portugal from an 100% cotton—20% of which is recycled—this jacket wears like a vintage find from the first try-on. Washed down to a perfectly faded blue, it captures the character of an old favourite, with details rooted in function and tradition.
A Workwear Icon, Reimagined
Born in the 19th century and adopted by makers across the world, the chore jacket was never about fashion. It was about utility—four pockets, hardwearing fabric, and a fit that let you move. Farmers, mechanics, carpenters... men who shaped the world around them.
The Oakdale continues that legacy, but through a new lens. This isn’t just a replica. It’s our interpretation—cut with modern intent, built from beautiful washed cord, and finished with artisan-level attention to detail.
Details with Purpose
- Faded blue corduroy, rich with texture and soul
- x2 chest patch pockets – one internal, for secure stowage
- Pencil holder slot for tools of the trade
- x2 lower patch pockets – generous and practical
- Back neck hanger loop for utility
- Adjustable cuffs to roll and layer with ease
- 100% cotton canvas trim for reinforcement
- Sustainable Corozo buttons
- Made in Portugal from 100% cotton with 20% recycled cotton
Origins
The chore jacket was born in 19th-century France and adopted across the Atlantic by American workers. It became a symbol of honest graft—evolving from blue denim in the States to moleskin in Europe, and eventually corduroy as the jacket left the field and entered the workshop.
The Oakdale is our homage to that lineage. Reimagined through the &SONS lens with careful craftsmanship, recycled materials, and a fit that makes it as comfortable in the city as it is in the shed.
